Streamline search and item-level recovery with AWS Backup
Storage Blog
AWS has announced a new search and item-level recovery feature for AWS Backup, enabling users to easily find and restore specific files from Amazon EBS snapshots and Amazon S3 backups.
- Users can create an index of backups to enable detailed searching
- Search capabilities include filtering by creation time, file size, file path, and object key
- Indexing maintains data privacy by not scanning file contents
- Restore process allows selection of specific files across multiple backup points
- Restored files are downloaded to an Amazon S3 bucket without overwriting originals
The feature is now available in all commercial AWS Regions, helping users streamline data recovery and reduce time spent searching for specific files or objects.
