Amazon EC2 has introduced a new feature for automated recovery of Microsoft SQL Server databases using Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS) based EBS snapshots.
- Allows backup of application data while databases are running
- Uses AWS Systems Manager Automation Runbook for recovery
- Enables specification of restore time points
- Supports rapid database recovery within minutes
- Offers flexibility to restore to a new database or perform point-in-time recovery
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions
This feature simplifies Microsoft SQL Server database recovery by providing an automated, non-disruptive method to restore databases with minimal downtime.
