Amazon RDS now provides visibility into IAM DB Authentication metrics and logs

Amazon RDS has enhanced IAM Database Authentication with new metrics and logs to improve observability and troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Provides visibility into authentication issues for RDS databases
  • Supports MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Aurora MySQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL
  • Metrics automatically available in Amazon CloudWatch when IAM DB Authentication is enabled
  • Error logs can be exported to CloudWatch Logs
  • Helps diagnose connection failures due to configuration, permissions, expired tokens, or throttling

This update enables easier investigation and resolution of database authentication problems across supported RDS database engines.
