Amazon Bedrock expands Claude model availability to in-country inferencing in India

This article announces the availability of Anthropic's Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5, and Claude Haiku 4.5 on Amazon Bedrock with geographic cross-Region inference in India.

• Geographic cross-Region inference distributes requests across multiple AWS regions without managing individual capacity
• Data remains in source region with zero data retention model and end-to-end encryption in transit
• Supports Anthropic Messages API, Amazon Bedrock InvokeModel, and Converse APIs with Guardrails and prompt routing
• Access models via Amazon Bedrock console playground or programmatically using AWS SDK and Anthropic SDK
• Billing and monitoring tracked in source region only for simplified operations
