Amazon Quick adds Hierarchy Filter for guided dashboard drill-down
News
Amazon QuickSight now supports the hierarchy filter, a single control that lets readers drill through related dimensions such as Region, Country, and City with guided navigation.
- Replaces multiple stacked filter controls with one, reducing dashboard clutter
- Supports up to five dimension levels arranged from broadest to most detailed
- Auto-selects parent chain as readers expand each level, narrowing options progressively
- Authors create it by adding a filter and setting its type to Hierarchy filter
- Relationships between dimensions are visible, eliminating need for prior knowledge
- Available today in all AWS Regions where Amazon QuickSight is supported
The hierarchy filter simplifies dashboard navigation by consolidating multiple controls into one intuitive drill-down interface.
