This article announces that AWS End User Computing customers can now use Microsoft 365 licenses on Amazon WorkSpaces services through a bring-your-own-license (BYOL) model, effective August 1, 2023.

  • Microsoft 365 BYOL now supported on Amazon WorkSpaces virtual desktops
  • No additional fees or special setup required for Microsoft 365 deployment
  • Supports E3/E5, A3/A5, G3/G5, and Business Premium Microsoft 365 licenses
  • Microsoft Project and Visio licenses also eligible under new terms
  • WorkSpaces offers secure, scalable, pay-as-you-go virtual desktop infrastructure
  • Supports Windows, Amazon Linux 2, and Ubuntu Desktop operating systems

This integration enables organizations to deliver Microsoft 365 productivity applications to hybrid and remote workers securely while leveraging AWS's cloud infrastructure and cost-effective pricing model.
