Amazon VPC IP Address Manager now publishes IP Address utilization metrics for AWS resources

This article announces three new CloudWatch metrics for Amazon VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM) to monitor IP address utilization across AWS resources.
- VpcIPUsage metric tracks percentage of IPs allocated within a VPC
- SubnetIPUsage metric measures active IPs as percentage of subnet capacity
- PublicIPv4PoolIPUsage metric shows allocated Elastic IPs versus total pool size
- CloudWatch alarms can notify when IP usage thresholds are breached
- Metrics available on IPAM Dashboard for consolidated IP insights
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions and GovCloud, excluding China
- No additional charge for this feature
These metrics enable proactive IP address management, allowing users to optimize capacity and prevent resource exhaustion before it occurs.
