Blog
This article discusses gender inequity in technology and introduces the Femme Forward project, an EU-funded initiative to empower women in tech careers and entrepreneurship.
- Women hold only 8% of cloud roles in European companies
- Female tech founders in Europe remain under 15%
- AWS re/Start is a reskilling program supporting career transitions into tech
- Femme Forward runs January 2023 to December 2024 across eight European countries
- Program targets 500+ women with mentoring in seven languages
- Two streams: Tech Careers (AWS re/Start content) and Tech Founders (business-focused)
- Partners include Simplon, Randstad, Fujitsu, and eleven other organizations
- Mentors and female founders can register to participate or deliver sessions
Femme Forward represents a collaborative effort to address tech's gender imbalance through skills training, mentorship, and entrepreneurship support across Europe.
