This article announces that EC2 Hibernation now supports Amazon EC2 M7i and M7i-flex instances.
- Hibernation allows pausing instances and resuming from saved state later
- EBS root volume, data volumes, and RAM state are saved to disk
- Applications resume from where they left off without modification
- Supports On-Demand and Reserved Instances across multiple families
- Compatible with Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows Server operating systems
- Windows limited to 16 GB RAM; other OS limited to 150 GB RAM
- Available in all AWS Regions where EC2 is available
- Can be enabled via CloudFormation, Console, SDKs, or CLI
EC2 Hibernation for M7i instances enables faster instance resumption and pre-warmed state maintenance without application changes.
