  • Recommends downgrading SQL Server Edition to reduce licensing costs
  • Supports both license-included and bring-your-own-license (BYOL) instances
  • Automatically discovers SQL Server instances by inferred workload type
  • Analyzes Enterprise edition feature usage via CloudWatch Application Insights
  • Recommends Standard Edition downgrade when no Enterprise features detected
  • Available in all AWS Regions where Compute Optimizer operates

AWS Compute Optimizer now helps customers optimize SQL Server licensing costs by identifying opportunities to downgrade editions without impacting workload requirements.
