AWS WAF Bot Control now protects against distributed proxy-based attacks
News
AWS WAF Bot Control now protects against distributed proxy-based attacks by offering predictive Machine Learning (ML) technology to identify and block sophisticated bots attempting to evade detection.
Specifically, the article covers:
- Threat actors using compromised residential computers as "bots" and residential proxies to bypass IP reputation and block lists
- AWS WAF Bot Control's new feature that adds bot confidence levels (high or medium likelihood) to requests detected as potentially originating from bots
- The ability to define different enforcement actions (block, challenge, or Captcha) based on the bot confidence level
- No additional cost for this feature, but standard Targeted Bot Control and WAF charges still apply
