Introducing browser-based SSH/RDP support for IPv6-only instances bundles on Lightsail

This article announces that Amazon Lightsail now supports browser-based SSH/RDP connections (called Lightsail Connect) for IPv6-only instances, in addition to IPv4 instances.

Specifically, the article covers:

  • Lightsail Connect allows connecting to Linux or Windows instances directly from the Lightsail Console in a browser, without installing any software
  • Previously, a public IPv4 address was required to use Lightsail Connect with IPv6-only instances
  • With this launch, you can now use Lightsail Connect for IPv6-only instances in all AWS Regions that support Lightsail
  • Links are provided to the Lightsail Console and documentation on connecting to instances
