Amazon OpenSearch Service now scales to 1000 data nodes on a single cluster
News
Amazon OpenSearch Service has expanded its scaling capabilities, allowing users to create larger, more powerful clusters:
- Can now scale a single cluster up to 1000 data nodes
- Supports managing up to 25 petabytes of data in one cluster:
- 10 petabytes in hot nodes
- 15 petabytes in warm nodes
- Eliminates the need to create multiple clusters for large workloads
- Reduces operational overhead of managing separate clusters
- Requires requesting a Service Quota increase to scale beyond 200 nodes
This enhancement simplifies cluster management for large-scale data workloads, allowing seamless scaling within a single OpenSearch Service cluster running version 2.17 and above.
