Announcing static stability for Amazon EC2 instances backed by EC2 instance store on AWS Outposts

News

AWS has introduced static stability for Amazon EC2 instances backed by EC2 instance store on AWS Outposts, enhancing resilience and recovery capabilities.

  • Enables automatic recovery for workloads during power failures or reboots
  • Functional even when connection to the parent AWS Region is temporarily unavailable
  • Helps Outposts servers and racks recover faster from power outages
  • Minimizes downtime and potential data loss
  • Available in all AWS Regions that support Outposts
  • No customer-specific action required for implementation

This feature improves the reliability of AWS Outposts by ensuring workloads can recover more effectively during disruptions, particularly for instances using EC2 instance store.
