What’s Next for VMware Workloads on AWS?

AWS has announced Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS), a new native AWS service for running VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) within Amazon VPC.
- Allows customers to run VMware workloads on AWS using existing VCF licenses
- Enables quick migration of VMware virtual machines without refactoring
- Provides guided configuration and automated deployment of VCF environment
- Allows customers to extend on-premises networks without changing IP addresses
- Supports familiar VMware management tools and third-party integrations
The service will be previewed at AWS re:Invent 2024, offering customers a native AWS solution for VMware workloads with a pathway to cloud modernization.
