AWS has announced console context awareness for Amazon Q Developer, enhancing its chat capabilities within the AWS Management Console.

  • Amazon Q Developer can now provide context-specific answers based on the AWS service you are currently viewing
  • Users can ask service-specific questions without providing repetitive context details
  • Example: Within the Amazon ECS console, asking "How can I create a cluster?" will generate targeted guidance
  • Feature is available in the Amazon Q Developer Free Tier and Pro Tier at no additional cost
  • Accessible across all regions where Amazon Q Developer chat is available

This update aims to make interactions with the AI assistant more natural and efficient by understanding the user's current console context.
