AWS has launched Data Transfer Terminals, a new physical service allowing businesses to upload data directly to the AWS cloud with high-speed connectivity.

  • Initial terminals are located in Los Angeles and New York
  • Users can upload data at speeds up to 400 Gbps
  • Ideal for large datasets like ML training data, media files, and government mapping information
  • Reservations can be made through the AWS Management Console
  • No per GB charge for data transfers within the same continent

The service provides a secure, direct method for organizations to quickly transfer large volumes of data to AWS cloud services without relying on traditional internet-based transfers.
