AWS Config now supports a service-linked recorder

AWS Config has introduced a new service-linked recorder that allows AWS services to automatically manage configuration data recording for specific resources.

  • Amazon CloudWatch can now deploy a service-linked recorder to track telemetry configurations
  • Provides centralized visibility into critical AWS service configurations like VPC Flow Logs and Lambda Traces
  • Service-linked recorders are immutable and operate independently of existing AWS Config recorders
  • Helps identify monitoring gaps within organizational resources
  • Available in multiple regions including US, Asia Pacific, and Europe
  • No additional cost to customers

This feature enables more comprehensive and automated configuration tracking across AWS services, offering enhanced monitoring and visibility.
