AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN introduces three significant feature enhancements to improve IoT device management and networking:
- IPv6 support for LoRaWAN devices and gateways, enabling coexistence with IPv4 devices and simplifying network configurations
- Enhanced Firmware Update Over-The-Air (FUOTA) with:
- Selective multicast transmission to specific gateways
- Advanced logging capabilities for monitoring update progress
- AWS IoT Core console now provides streamlined firmware update management for LoRaWAN gateways using CUPS protocol
These updates aim to improve fleet management, scalability, reliability, and user experience for IoT applications using low-power, long-range wireless networks.
