Winners announced in the Airbus-BMW Group Quantum Computing Challenge

The Airbus-BMW Group Quantum Computing Challenge announced five winning teams who proposed innovative quantum computing solutions across different industrial use cases:

  • University of Southern California: Developed a hybrid approach to study corrosion inhibitors using quantum and classical methods
  • 4colors Research Ltd: Created a quantum-ready logistics and supply chain planning solver
  • Quandela: Proposed a quantum generative adversarial network to generate night-time images from day-time images
  • University of Hamburg: Applied quantum techniques to simulate fluid flows and sound propagation more efficiently
  • TU Delft: Solved the stacking sequence retrieval problem for optimizing carbon fiber-reinforced plastic

The challenge attracted over 100 teams from more than 25 countries, with 15 finalists selected to demonstrate their solutions using AWS Braket quantum computing resources.
