Introducing a new unified data connection experience with Amazon SageMaker Lakehouse unified data connectivity

Big Data Blog

AWS has introduced SageMaker Lakehouse unified data connectivity, a new feature designed to streamline data integration and connectivity across multiple AWS services. The solution addresses key challenges in data connectivity:

  • Creates standardized connection configurations shareable across SageMaker, AWS Glue, and Athena
  • Supports standard authorization methods like basic authentication and OAuth2
  • Provides data connection testing and metadata browsing capabilities
  • Offers data preview to help with field mapping and transformation planning
  • Simplifies APIs for connecting to various data sources

The demonstration shows how an e-commerce company can use this feature to create a unified PostgreSQL database connection, load data through SageMaker Studio, and query it using different AWS services like Athena and AWS Glue, ultimately simplifying their data integration workflow.
