AWS Backup launches support for search and item-level recovery

AWS Backup has launched new features for search and item-level recovery for Amazon EBS Snapshots and Amazon S3 backups.
- Enables searching backup metadata across multiple backups
- Can search and filter by file/object name, creation time, size, and other attributes
- Users must first create a backup index via backup plan or on-demand
- Allows restoring up to 5 specific items directly to an Amazon S3 bucket
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions where EBS and S3 backups are supported
The new feature streamlines backup search and recovery, allowing faster and more targeted item restoration without full backup retrieval.
