Announcing support for Amazon WorkSpaces Personal with AWS Global Accelerator

Desktop & Application Streaming Blog

AWS has announced support for Amazon WorkSpaces Personal with AWS Global Accelerator (AGA), which enhances WorkSpaces connection performance by optimizing streaming traffic through the AWS Global Network and edge locations.

  • Automatically routes streaming traffic through nearest AWS edge location
  • Works across long distances with more responsive and stable streaming
  • Available at no additional cost for Personal WorkSpaces using DCV protocol
  • Can be enabled at directory or individual WorkSpace level
  • Requires WorkSpaces client version 5.23 or later that supports Amazon DCV

The feature helps improve connection quality for end users, especially those connecting from distant or unreliable networks, by leveraging AWS's congestion-free global network infrastructure.
