AWS announced ten new features for Cloud Financial Management services at re:Invent 2024, organized across four solution areas:
- Plan & Evaluate: Authenticated AWS Pricing Calculator and Savings Plans Purchase Analyzer
- Track and Allocate: Custom Billing View, FOCUS 1.0 Data Exports, GenAI cost analysis in Amazon Q, and EKS pod-level cost data
- Optimize and Save: Idle resource detection for EBS, ECS, EC2, and RDS, and Amazon Aurora rightsizing recommendations
- Govern and Operate: Enhanced root cause analysis for Cost Anomaly Detection and invoice configuration options
These new features aim to help organizations improve cloud cost management, provide more granular insights, and enable more efficient FinOps practices.
