AWS has achieved Health Data Hosting (HDS) certification for 24 AWS Regions, demonstrating a strong commitment to securing and protecting personal health data.
- Certification was completed by independent third-party auditors on January 13th, 2025
- Certification covers regions across the US, Asia Pacific, Europe, Canada, Israel, Middle East, and South America
- HDS certification was introduced by the French governmental agency for health (ANS)
- Provides a framework for technical and governance measures to secure personal health data
- Compliance documentation is available on AWS Artifact and the ANS website
This certification allows AWS customers handling personal health data to manage their workloads with increased confidence in data protection and security.
