EUROGATE, a leading container terminal operator in Europe, established a data mesh architecture using Amazon DataZone to solve data sharing and governance challenges across their organization. Key objectives included:

  • Enable domain-oriented data ownership
  • Create a self-service data governance framework
  • Facilitate seamless data integration across business units

Two primary use cases demonstrated the solution's effectiveness:

  • Machine learning for IoT-based digital twin using Amazon SageMaker
  • Business intelligence dashboards using Tableau and Amazon Redshift

Benefits included faster data asset onboarding, reduced complexity, improved scalability, and enhanced collaboration across organizational units. EUROGATE successfully integrated 500 data assets and established a foundation for future digital transformation in container logistics.
