AWS HealthScribe now supports GIRPP note template for behavioral health

AWS HealthScribe has expanded its generative AI capabilities by introducing support for the GIRPP note template in behavioral health documentation.

  • GIRPP format covers Goal, Intervention, Response, Progress, and Plan
  • Automatically generates summarized clinical notes from patient-clinician conversations
  • Can be used with StartMedicalScribeJob and StartMedicalScribeStream APIs
  • Customers can set note template type to "GIRPP" in ClinicalNoteGenerationSettings
  • Potential to save clinicians hours of manual documentation time
  • Currently available in the IAD (US East - N. Virginia) region

The feature aims to streamline behavioral health documentation by leveraging generative AI technology.
