AWS has announced the addition of 53 new or updated datasets to the Registry of Open Data on AWS, expanding access to high-value, cloud-optimized data across multiple domains.

  • Highlights include the Biodiversity Heritage Library dataset with 62 million pages of scientific text
  • New datasets span categories like climate and weather, geospatial, life sciences, and machine learning
  • Contributions come from organizations including NOAA, NASA, USGS, and various research institutions
  • The AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program aims to democratize data access and encourage community development
  • Datasets are now also discoverable on AWS Data Exchange

The program continues to make over 100 petabytes of data publicly available, supporting research, innovation, and data-driven insights across various fields.
