AWS HealthOmics workflows now support NVIDIA L4 and L40S GPUs and expanded CPU options

AWS HealthOmics has expanded its workflow compute capabilities with new GPU and CPU options to support advanced scientific research:

  • Added support for NVIDIA L4 and L40S GPUs alongside existing A10G and T4 GPUs
  • Increased CPU configurations up to 192 vCPUs with 1,536 GiB of memory
  • Enables more efficient machine learning workloads like protein structure prediction
  • Supports complex biological foundation model processing
  • Available in US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions

These enhancements help healthcare and life sciences researchers accelerate scientific breakthroughs by reducing processing time for large-scale genomics datasets.
