AWS has announced a new feature for AWS AppSync Events that allows developers to publish messages directly over WebSocket connections, enhancing real-time application development.

  • Enables publishing messages over a single WebSocket connection
  • Reduces implementation complexity for real-time applications
  • Provides flexibility to publish over WebSocket or HTTP endpoint
  • Supports up to 5 events per publish request
  • Clients can publish at a rate of 25 requests per second per WebSocket connection
