Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases now supports Amazon Opensearch Managed Cluster for vector storage

Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases has expanded its vector storage support to include Amazon OpenSearch Managed Cluster, enhancing its Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities for foundation models.

  • Allows secure connection of foundation models to internal company data sources
  • Eliminates the need for custom data source integration
  • Joins existing vector database support for platforms like OpenSearch Serverless, Amazon Aurora, Neptune Analytics, Pinecone, MongoDB Atlas, and Redis
  • Now generally available in all existing Bedrock Knowledge Base and OpenSearch service regions

This integration provides users with more flexible and comprehensive options for storing and retrieving vector data when using Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases.
