Amazon CloudWatch Logs has increased the maximum log event size from 256 KB to 1 MB, providing significant improvements for log management and analysis.
- 4x increase in maximum log event size to 1 MB
- Applies to CloudWatch Logs PutLogEvents API and OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP) endpoint
- Enables capturing more comprehensive log data without truncation
- Beneficial for detailed logging scenarios like stack traces and security audits
- Available automatically in all AWS Regions, including AWS GovCloud (US)
This enhancement allows for more detailed and complete logging, simplifying troubleshooting and improving application visibility.
