Monitor service dependencies with Amazon CloudWatch Application Signals SLOs

News

Amazon CloudWatch Application Signals has introduced the ability to create Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for monitoring service dependencies, enabling proactive performance tracking and problem resolution.

  • Users can create period-based or request-based SLOs tracking metrics like latency and faults
  • Monitors outgoing requests from services to their dependencies
  • Helps identify potential performance issues before they impact customer-facing services
  • Example use case: Tracking latency between an e-commerce service and a payment processor
  • Available in all commercial AWS Regions
  • New bundled pricing plan for Application Signals now available

This feature allows organizations to more effectively monitor and maintain the reliability of their service ecosystem by providing deeper insights into dependency performance.
