Amazon Route 53 adds public authoritative DNS service to AWS GovCloud (US) Regions

Amazon Route 53 has expanded its public authoritative DNS service to AWS GovCloud (US-East and US-West) Regions, providing new capabilities for government cloud customers.

  • Previously, customers used Route 53 DNS from commercial AWS Regions
  • Now supports DNS queries directly within AWS GovCloud Regions
  • Features include DNS query logging and DNSSEC signing
  • Supports alias records for services like API Gateway, S3, and ELB
  • Available through AWS Management Console and API in AWS GovCloud (US-West)

This release allows government cloud users to manage DNS more efficiently within their dedicated government cloud environment.
