Amazon has launched Nova Sonic, a new speech-to-speech AI model for real-time voice conversations in Amazon Bedrock.
- Unifies speech understanding and generation into a single model
- Supports multiple English accents and voice styles
- Can adapt speech intonation and prosody based on context
- Enables function calling and enterprise data integration via RAG
- Includes built-in content moderation and watermarking
- Introduces a new bidirectional streaming API for low-latency interactions
Potential use cases include customer service automation, marketing, voice assistants, and interactive learning. The model is currently available in the US East (N. Virginia) AWS Region.
