AWS Lambda now supports inbound IPv6 connectivity over AWS PrivateLink

News

AWS Lambda has expanded its inbound private connectivity capabilities by introducing support for IPv6-only and dual-stack PrivateLink interface VPC Endpoints.

  • Enables accessing Lambda API without using public internet
  • Supports connectivity from dual-stack or IPv6-only VPCs
  • Available in all AWS Regions
  • Can be configured via AWS Management Console, CLI, CDK, CloudFormation, and SDK
  • Provides larger address space and simpler network configuration

This update allows users to invoke and manage Lambda functions over IPv6, expanding private connectivity options and addressing network addressing limitations.
