AWS Budgets announces support for additional cost metrics and filtering capabilities

News

AWS Budgets has introduced new features to enhance cost management and tracking for customers:

  • Added support for new cost metrics like net unblended and net amortized costs
  • Enables tracking costs after applying discounts
  • Allows excluding specific dimension values when creating budgets
  • Supports additional Cost Explorer charge types including reservation and Savings Plan costs
  • Provides more precise budgeting for applications, teams, and cost centers

These enhancements give customers more granular control over cost tracking, allowing them to create more targeted budgets by excluding shared services or monitoring specific spending areas. The new features are available in most AWS Regions, excluding GovCloud and China Regions.
