Build public-facing generative AI applications using Amazon Q Business for anonymous users

Machine Learning Blog

AWS has announced anonymous user access for Amazon Q Business, a generative AI service that enables public-facing applications without user authentication.

  • Creates public-facing Q&A websites, documentation portals, and customer self-service experiences
  • Allows guest users to find information, get technical answers, and navigate documentation
  • Two integration methods: iframe embedding or using Chat/ChatSync APIs
  • Consumption-based pricing model based on API operations
  • Supports web crawling and S3 data sources for public content indexing

Key considerations include restricted API support, public-only data sources, and limitations on features like chat history and plugins. The feature provides a new way to deliver AI-powered assistance to anonymous website visitors.
