AWS EC2 Image Builder now offers direct integration with AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store, providing enhanced flexibility in image creation and management.
- Enables dynamic selection of base images within image recipes
- Allows easy referencing of configuration data and sensitive information in components
- Supports automatic updating of SSM parameters with output images
- Eliminates manual AMI ID maintenance in image recipes
- Reduces operational overhead by removing need for custom scripts
The new capability is available at no additional cost across all AWS commercial regions, including GovCloud and China regions, and can be accessed through multiple interfaces like Console, CLI, API, CloudFormation, and CDK.
