Amazon Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall is now available in additional regions
Regional Expansion
Amazon has expanded the availability of Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall to two new regions: Asia Pacific (Thailand) and Mexico (Central).
- Enables governance and filtering of outbound DNS traffic in Amazon VPCs
- Allows blocking queries for low-reputation or malicious domains
- DNS Firewall Advanced can detect and block threats like Domain Generation Algorithms (DGA) and DNS Tunneling
- Works with Route 53 Resolver, the default recursive DNS server in VPCs
- Responds to DNS queries for public records, VPC-specific domains, and private hosted zones
This expansion provides enhanced DNS security and threat protection for AWS customers in additional geographic regions.
