Amazon OpenSearch Service launches flow builder to empower rapid AI search innovation

Amazon OpenSearch Service has launched a new AI Search Flow Builder that enables developers to create and customize AI-powered search applications with a visual designer. Key highlights include:
- Ability to design AI search flows for data ingestion and search processes
- Support for AI providers like Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenAI, and others
- Visual designer in OpenSearch Dashboards for creating flows
- Preconfigured templates for semantic search, multimodal search, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG)
The blog demonstrates two scenarios:
- Enabling semantic search on an existing product catalog without code changes
- Creating a multimodal image search using generative AI to provide descriptive results
The flow builder is available for OpenSearch 2.19+ domains and aims to simplify AI search innovation by reducing middleware complexity.
