AWS has announced plans to launch a new AWS South America (Chile) Region by the end of 2026, which will consist of three Availability Zones and represent AWS's third region in Latin America.
- Will bring advanced cloud technologies like AI and ML closer to Latin American customers
- Provides high-bandwidth, low-latency network connections
- Supports data residency requirements and local data storage
- Part of AWS's ongoing commitment to Chile since establishing an office in Santiago in 2017
- Will help customers reduce latency and leverage technologies like generative AI and IoT
Key customer examples include the Digital Government Secretariat and Transbank, who are already leveraging AWS services to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency in Chile.
