News

Amazon ECS has increased the container exit reason message length from 255 to 1024 characters, improving debugging capabilities for container tasks.

  • Longer error messages help customers troubleshoot container failures more effectively
  • Error messages can be accessed through the "reason" field in the DescribeTasks API response
  • Previously truncated error details are now fully visible
  • Available in all AWS regions for Fargate Platform 1.4.0 and ECS Agent v1.92.0+
