Amazon MWAA now provides option to update environments without interrupting task execution

Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow (MWAA) has introduced a new feature allowing environment updates without interrupting running tasks for supported Apache Airflow versions (v2.4.3 or later).

  • Enables updating MWAA environments without disrupting ongoing workflow tasks
  • Replaces Airflow Scheduler and Webserver components gracefully
  • Provisions new workers while waiting for existing worker tasks to complete
  • Available through AWS Management Console in all supported MWAA regions
  • Only supported for Apache Airflow versions 2.4.3 and later

This update improves the flexibility and operational efficiency of Amazon MWAA by minimizing workflow disruptions during environment updates.
