Amazon S3 has enhanced its HTTP 403 Access Denied error messages for requests within the same AWS Organization, providing more detailed troubleshooting information.
- New error messages include the type of policy that denied access
- Provides specific reasons for access denial
- Identifies the IAM user or role that requested resource access
- Additional context is also available in AWS CloudTrail logs
- Rollout will occur in all AWS Regions in the coming weeks
This update aims to help users more easily diagnose and resolve access control issues in Amazon S3 by providing more granular error information.
