AWS has announced Amazon WorkSpaces Core Managed Instances, a new solution to simplify virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) migrations.

  • Leverages EC2 Managed Instances for flexible resource provisioning
  • Supports both persistent and non-persistent workloads
  • Allows use of existing AWS discounts and Savings Plans
  • Provides enhanced infrastructure configuration options
  • Compatible with a wide range of instance types, including graphics-accelerated instances
  • Available in all AWS Regions that support WorkSpaces

This solution offers organizations greater control and cost optimization for virtual desktop migrations, with simplified management through partner VDI solutions.
