Amazon developed an AI-powered solution to process claims data more efficiently using Amazon Nova Foundation Models, specifically Nova Micro and Nova Lite.

  • The solution generates structured summaries of claims under 500 words
  • Previously, processing claims took 3-5 minutes and had high inference costs
  • Nova Lite and Nova Micro dramatically improved performance
  • Amazon Nova Lite is twice as fast and 98% cheaper than previous models
  • Nova Micro is four times faster and 99% less expensive

The solution uses a pipeline with AWS Glue, S3, SQS, Lambda, and DynamoDB to process and summarize claim documents efficiently, demonstrating the potential of Amazon's new foundation models for complex document processing.
