AWS Firewall Manager provides support for AWS WAF L7 DDOS managed rules

AWS Firewall Manager now supports AWS WAF Layer 7 (L7) DDoS managed rules, enhancing application security for cloud administrators and site reliability engineers.

  • Provides automatic detection and mitigation of DDoS events for applications on CloudFront, ALB, and other AWS services
  • Enables defense in depth policies for comprehensive web site protection
  • Supports adding the specialized Amazon Managed Rule set to new or existing Firewall Manager policies
  • Available in most AWS Regions, with a few exceptions like Thailand and Mexico
  • Deployable across Amazon CloudFront, Application Load Balancers, and other supported AWS resources

This feature reduces operational overhead by automating DDoS protection configuration and management across web application infrastructure.
