Build the highest resilience apps with multi-Region strong consistency in Amazon DynamoDB global tables

AWS News Blog

AWS has announced Multi-Region Strong Consistency (MRSC) for Amazon DynamoDB global tables, providing enhanced resilience for critical applications that require zero Recovery Point Objective (RPO).

  • Enables zero data loss during Region-wide events
  • Requires three AWS Regions: two full replicas or one witness
  • Supports configuring MRSC through AWS Management Console or CLI
  • Enables consistent reads across regions using `ConsistentRead=True`
  • Available in multiple regions including US East, US West, Asia Pacific, and Europe

This new capability allows applications to maintain strong consistency and high availability across multiple regions, with reduced pricing and simplified global table management.
