Amazon CloudWatch now supports AWS CloudTrail data event logging for PutMetricData, GetMetricStatistics, and ListMetrics APIs, providing enhanced visibility and security for metric-related activities.
- CloudTrail now captures API activities for CloudWatch metric APIs
- Users can track specific requests, including IP address, requester identity, and timestamp
- Enables operational auditing, risk management, and compliance tracking
- Available in all AWS Regions, including AWS GovCloud (US)
- Data logging is subject to AWS CloudTrail pricing
This feature allows customers to improve security and operational insights by monitoring CloudWatch metric API interactions.
